    You are buying 50 pounds of 60D, Common, Hot Dipped Galvanized (6 inch) Nails.
    There are ~9 nails to the pound, depending on the galvanization.
    They have been transferred into a USPS shipping box.

    The galvanizing process can be applied in different ways: hot, electro, mechanical. D.D. Tousley, vice president of sales, wire products division, at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co., Sterling, Ill. (maker of Sterling nails), prefers hot galvanizing.
    ''Hot galvanizing has a lot heavier coating,'' Tousley says, ''probably 10 times the amount of coating of an electrogalvanized nail.
    And the coating gives it a rough finish, which gives you a better holding power.''
    When nailing two pieces of wood together, the general rule is to have the nail penetrate two-thirds of the way into the second piece.
