Description
Offered for sale herein is a fully restored and rebuilt Snap on IM75, 3/4" drive impact wrench with a new red tool cover and a custom black handle grip. This tool was bought as a used working impact wrench needing restoration repairs. I hand rubbed, polished and sanded the surfaces to a fairly flat looking patina that would accept a new red Snap on obsolete tool cover. I added a custom black handle grip so that the tool could feel better in your hand while it delivers like-new tool performance. This tool is Snap on Test Center rated for 870 foot pounds of reverse tool torque but this number is conservative as it is more likely to hit 950 working torque foot pounds with high volume air fittings and air pressure around 110 psi. The cylinder for this tool look like a brand new part. Typically I never see these parts without scratches and pitting.I add and ship a small emergency field repair kit to keep this tool working and allow you to make on-the-fly fixes to the things which will minimize downtime.
Mitigation repairs:
I took the tool down for a thorough cleaning and inspection. I installed my ebay IM75 tune up kit. Look at the anvil photo and you can see that the square drive of this anvil looks decent and without any areas of note or concern. I always resurface the air motor end plates and establish the correct rotor end face air gap. Fresh oil, bearings, vanes and double o'ring sealing of the reverse valve completed the power end repairs. I installed a new throttle valve, seat and spring kit. The exhaust deflector was installed with a small muffler added to quiet the tool. With high volume air fittings, filtered air pressure and proper daily oiling you can expect many years of service from this overbuilt and heavy duty impact wrench.
*ebay enables my customers to have phone conversations with me if there are questions or concerns about an item I have listed for sale. Feel free to use it if you need to know something about this item or something else related to what I have listed in my ebay store.
Special noteworthy Conditions:
I do recommend using 2 or 3 wraps of plumbers teflon tape on the last few threads (but not on the first 2 threads) of your male threaded shop air fitting to avoid bottoming into the inlet bushing threads with your shop air fitting to capture a proper air seal. Teflon tape can shred and clog the bushing debris screen when not carefully used. Avoid using air fittings with less than 1/4" ID and make sure to obtain 90 psi air pressure to the tool with air hoses that are not cracked internally. If you have any performance problems with any air tool always check the air inlet bushing debris screen first to make sure that the tool is not being starved for air supply.
I don't specifically offer a warranty on my tools sold on ebay. That is because there are some shops with wet and dirty air, deteriorating air hoses or shop air piping that will destroy tools. There are also some people who push the limits of their tools much harder than what a manufacturer recommends when they should be using a larger drive tool. If you do have a tool performance issue that is my fault I recognize that you will need my support to make corrective repairs. I have not had customer complaints from ebay store sales with my rebuilds or new tools sold. I make every effort to correct any existing tool issues and verify my work when I rebuild a pneumatic tool. I have sold repaired air tools overseas on ebay without any issues.
